Made from the photographs by Alan Mevis in the tradition of Street/Candid photography, the book depicts the action in which two men engage in a tug of war over a bottle while being observed by another man who in Act 2 is freely offered the bottle by its owner leading to an unexpected conclusion.

The design is a variant of the popular accordion structure.   Each book is handmade, except for the digital layout and printing.   It is 4” square, printed with archival ink on acid free Mohawk Superfine 85# card stock, and consists of 14 panels including the front and back covers.   In addition, the two “binder” edges of the book and the two “binder” edges of the slipcover repeat the same image pattern (see figure 1) so that the four edges of the closed book are the same.  Signature and numbering in pencil overlaps the back of the book and slipcover (figure 2).   The structure is a closed loop that can be viewed frame to frame as a loop (figure 3) or like a book, flipping pages, (figures 4 & 5).

The Limited edition of 70, © 2006, is priced at $40 each.   There are 5 artist proofs that are not for sale.  To purchase using Paypal click the "Add to Cart" button above.  USPS
insured Priority shipping will be added to the total at checkout.  If you are in Portland, and would like to see the actual book before purchasing and/or purchase it in person with cash or check, please contact me for an appoiintment.
